Hi, My site is showing the schema markup breadcrumbs http://www.mywebsite.com/category instead of http://www.mywebsite.com/postname in search results. How do i remove this feature from the theme.

Theme does not manage that; Google does in choosing which elements to show in SERPS; they don’t typically show the post name again since the ‘Main’ link above the excerpt is in fact the title; so they tend to show site > category > sub-category – as that is more useful to jump to that topic vs another redundant link to the main page, which the main link already does.

This is good for SEO, not bad.

You, in theory, could change breacrumbs to *not* show the category at all — but as long as a category is in the breadcrumb on the page — regardless of “markup” — Google will still scrape the categories from breadcrumb.

(( I don’t work here … ))

Hi

Thanks @Chris for you answer!

@sampath
you can deactivate all theme’s breadcrumbs from theme panel > template settings: http://screencast.com/t/RfSL3XtDed however this is not a guarantee that google won’t display its breadcrumbs in search results. As @Chris pointed above google have its own system in this regard and the theme can’t control it.

Thanks!
