If you want to add some images on your homepage, you have to do it from Visual Composer like this -> http://screencast.com/t/cgiPuByK per ROW or you can set it using text block and then insert your image from your media, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/mNbWyepnSl

WordPress cannot enlarge/crop images. Try adding the “thumbnail upscale” plugin (free).
