How do I stop certain posts from showing up in the Homepage Slider? Is it possible to set these posts to a certain category and then stop that category from displaying in the slider? How to do that?

I tried adding the “-” but the category number doesn’t stick. When I move to another element, I come back to check it and the category number is not there.
Also if I’m only filtering out 1 category do I still need to use the post type filter to “set all post types” related to the taxonomies. I’m confused about how to do this.

Also, if you have set here a category -> https://i.imgur.com/eoozB8P.png, then you do not need to use another filter option.
