I want to re-use my category template as a tag template. To start, I have copied (duplicated) my category template and now want to “tell” it that it is a tag template.
How can I do that?
I fear that you will say: You cannot. You have to start with a cloud template. If that is so, how can I get my category template setting into a blank tag template?

Unfortunately, you can not use a category template for a tag template, also you can not change the template type.
What you can do is to build a tag template which can look similar like a category template, or you can install a tag template from cloud.

(I will not get into how annoying this is and how your composer in this respect is lacking…).
Tag template does not work for me. I have imported three templates. The briefly show the new layout but then flip back to the original layout from before.
I did that in an incognito window.
What can I do?
and the is no way to edit it in composer !?

You should be able to edit a cloud/PRO template with TagDiv Composer plugin.
The issue can be from a plugin conflict, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
If this problem is not solved after that, then we need to take a look and see what happened there.
