How to use different custom ads for desktop and mobile?

I want to use Custom Ad 1 for desktop and Custom Ad 4 for mobile.

How can I do that?

I tried using the tagdiv editor but it doesn’t differentiate the custom ad ID on each platform.

Thanks,

Hi,

You could hide custom ad 1 on mobile, ans show custom ad 4, while custom ad 4 is hidden for desktop. Rows and most elements (including ad boxes) have options to hide them per device

So this could be a solution, you could give it a try.

Thanks

In that case I will run out of custom ads. Is there a way to have more custom ads?

You could also enter the ad codes in text elements, like column text or text with title.

There is a way to add more custom ad spots but it will require modifications to the theme
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/costum-ad/
Also these modifications can’t be made in a child theme so they will be lost after a theme update.

Or maybe consider using a plugin to manage the ads, some users recommend the Adrotate plugin which based on user feedback works properly with the theme. Some more info about it here if you should consider it

Hello

That option will hide your ads as display none, and google do not allow the ads code be hidden with display none CSS. You can try to use advanced ads plugin that work well with newspaper theme.

It is allowed when used with media queries as far as I know
https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1354736?hl=en

That is how the theme will set it – https://www.screencast.com/t/W5gUXPjbUm
I believe this would not be in violation of Adsense rules.

Other than what I suggested I can’t think of another way of doing it. maybe make some tests with the plugin I mentioned as well.

Hi people!

Thanks for your answers, very helpful. Unfortunately this hasn’t entirely solved my issue.

This is a short list of the current scenario:

1- My website uses self hosted ads/banners. No ad-sense ads.
2- I’m using AdRotate to manage my banners/ads.
3- I need 5 spots in the homepage to show 5 different ads.
4- Also I need 5 spots for the mobile version which uses a different size.
5- Newspaper only allows me to use 5 custom ads, so far good enough for item #2.
6- Raw HTML won’t help me render AdRotate’s code.

Am I missing something here? Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Read this post for other ads

https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-other-ads-non-adsense-ads/

I recommend you use advanced ads plugin, the shortcode is work in column text and adbox spot perfectly. The adrotate shortcode sometime doesn’t work in column text and adbox spot.

Hope this help dude
