How to use my own PO file instead of Google Translate?

Hi.

I have created my own danish .po files and put them into the translation folder as da_DK.po and da_DK.mo But it still uses the google translated syntax.

I have it both main and child-theme

Any ideas?

Hi,

The theme has an available Danish translation which you can load and adjust it as you like: http://screencast.com/t/eKOMdnyjO
The po/mo files can also be added in the translation folder and should work however I’m not sure to which google translated syntax you refer to.
Just use the existing translation or configure your own.

Thanks

Hi Lucian,

I think it would be a great idea, if you updated the help text in Newspaper => Translations => Load an available translation => More information, to include Danish (screenshot here).

I nearly missed the fact, that a real (non-Google) translation was available in Danish, and started translating the whole thing from scratch.

Google Translate is not the greatest when it comes to Danish, so the fact that there is a “real” translation, was really a great help. However, had I not found this post, I would have missed it, and done the whole thing myself 🙂

Anyways, just an idea for the next update. Newspaper is an awesome theme, thank you for all your continued hard work on it!

Cheers,
Thomas
