Makes sure you also add the code in the text area in backend, like this: http://screencast.com/t/pFJEzlRLQJb
If still doesn’t work try without plugins and also test using a WordPress default theme, and empty caches.
The embed feature is not controlled by the theme in anyway and that function comes from WordPress. I did some research on this and found this list of supported embedded players but seems that the eplayer is not on that list: https://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds#Okay.2C_So_What_Sites_Can_I_Embed_From.3F
I suggest you also try a plugin and you could try this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/sportspress-tv/
