When updating posts I get an error message:
Update failed. Could not update the entry in the database.
My hosting company says the following:
It’s the theme causing a PHP Fatal Error:

Replaced my website with hidden in the above.

This error is caused by the PHP version. The problem is in your Newspaper’s child theme code.
