Hi, good morning.
Newspaper theme have been working fine until yesterday when I moved from the storage engine MyISAM to InnoDB and also changed the collation from Utfmb4_unicode_ci to Utfmb4_unicode_520_ci in my phpmyadmin database.
After doing that, all the settings in my theme were gone and were reset, its like it deleted all previous saved settings and I have to start again.
I saw it a big task but I had to do it anyway, But now the problem is this. After trying to change the settings in the theme panel and I hit the save settings, the button just keeps loading forever. I also tried to activate the theme, it tells me Its activated, but when the theme reloads, I still see the activate theme button. It still tells me to register theme. I can’t do anything with the theme anymore, I can’t activate it, I’ve also tried the manual method and its still same.
I’ve done many things, I have deleted all plugins, Troubleshoot, I also revert back from Innodb to MyISAM and also reverted the collation back to the original from the database but this issue is still there. I’ve really tried. Pls what do you think is wrong plans help me
Is possible to be from be from firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
For theme activation you can try this: go in Newspaper> System status and replace the url from: -> https://i.imgur.com/WlRnszw.png
admin.php?page=td_system_status
in
admin.php?page=td_system_status&reset_registration=1
And try after that to activate the theme.

From the above logs, we see that there is some “Illegal string offset” on the plugin “td-composer/legacy/common/wp_booster/td_options.php on line 48”.
This is something a developer will be able to assist you better and help you fix it.
I had a similar problem, which did not allow me to save the changes in the panel.
I noticed that the Wordfence plugin was blocking my admin-ajax.php.
By telling the security plugin that this was a valid request, the theme was able to successfully save the changes.
Hi,
Please make a full backup and send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and include wp-admin, cPanel and the link of this thread. I will investigate the problem.
