Image link to file (pdf) not possible

Hi,
I wanted to link an image to a .pdf file, but it always opens the image layer with an error message, that the image couldn’t be opened. I tried to uncheck the “modal image” setting in the post and also opening the link in a new window, but both didn’t worked.

Also if i set an image not to be link to “media file” but to “attachment page” the error message appears.

How can this be fixed – and can you implement something in the next version of the theme that gives an opt.out function per image to the lightbox.

Hi,
unfortunately global modal feature is necessary to have the lightbox on the images and the motivation to do it individually on hundreds of images is quite low as you can understand.
Wouldnt it be better to be able to switch it on and off globally and use the on-off swith on individual pictures to actually switch it off?

Or is there any other workaround so I can make pictures link to anything else then the picture itself? e.g. adding some formating to it, etc.?

Would be really great if you could offer some way around this.
