Image size in Blocks and Grids

Often I think of switching to TD composer but one reason I still have not done so is the way it handles images. Look at the following screenshots and pl let me know if there is any word around.

Existing design with Visual composer http://prntscr.com/j536g6

Trial design with TD composer http://prntscr.com/j536vq

Another example:

Existing design with Visual composer http://prntscr.com/j5373j

Trial design with TD composer http://prntscr.com/j5379o

I can understand that the issue is with how both page builders crop or shrink the images but that increases a lot of work to build the page similar to what it looks now if i switch to TD.

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Hello,

You can safely switch to the tagdiv composer as that is not the default way it handles images. It is a thumbnail issue on your end. The blocks look identical in both page builders by default. Please use this guide if you face image issues: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thank you!

Thank you Bogdan. Could you tell me a little more?

Run the regen plugin after switching to TD or before? Running the regen plugin sounds pretty risky…I am thinking what if it changes even the existing image sizes which are just fine with VC but shows issues only when I use TD. What confuses me is, if the problem is at my end AND if both the plugin (VC and TD) blocks work the same way so far images are concern, then why all is fine with VC at the moment but changes when I use TD with identical blocks?

Hello,

Do you maybe use both plugins at the same time? Pleas do not use both td composer and VC at the same time. Settle on one and disable the other. The 2 plugins conflict with each other and create layout issues especially regarding images.

Thank you!

Nope. I am checking it on a separate, fresh wordpress installation. VC is not even installed there nor any other image related plugins. Only tagDiv plugins and a couple of essential ones, WordPress importer and Akismet.

Hello Mayapur Voice,

Try to recreate your pages made with VC with TD Composer, regenerate again the images with Force Regenerate plugin and Thumbnails Regenerate and check the results. Clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Let me clarify what I am doing. For a trial, I have installed Newspaper 8.7 on a fresh WordPress where there is no VC installed. Only TD composer. I imported blogs from our online website which also uses Newspaper but with VC. I am not using TD as yet on the online website.

When I try to create a trial home page on the fresh WordPress installation using TD as mentioned above, the images are displayed differently as shown in my first post on this thread. That is the issue.

I am afraid of trying to regenerate images in case it destroys what we have online which works without any problem. The whole point is about switching to TD composer safely without losing what we have. Hope I am clearer now.

Hello Mayapur Voice,

More important is to make a full backup before each theme modification to avoid losing all of your data, sorry! You should not lose anything but it’s okay to make a backup before. For beginning try to regenerate only some images and check the results. Most likely, that’s why you did not bring good results with your images because these are not correctly cropped. Try to do this and then provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks.
