Hi,
Several days ago my posts don’t show any image when I share them in social networks (G+, FB).
Could it be related with some fix of the theme?
Thanks a lot.
I have the same problem, i have to post manually to facebook and even then, the first post grabs the wrong image.
Hello,
@taskforsome what do you use for sharing? We doesn’t change anything on that part.
@cristiandark when you post manually you can select another image to share? Can you give me an URL to test the facebook share?
Thanks
Hi all,
I discovered that deactivating tag-div speed boost resolved my problem. Maybe it was caused by cache…
Thanks.
take a look http://house-language.me/veev-shake-it-up-fhdr023/ yes when i post manualy i can select multiple images. It doesnt grab the right one
I had the same problem for Facebook (G+ has always showing the right featured image from first). All you have to do is that after you published your post is to go to Facebook Debug and put your link in there. It will load all your images from that article, and when you put the link on Facebook to share it, it will show all your images.
Hello,
@cristiandark http://screencast.com/t/P4aVh6E2gP
Please check to have latest version 1.7.2 and use from Theme customizer No link http://screencast.com/t/gKojDDBP9
Thanks
I use the latest version 1.7.2 and the Featured image lightbox? is No link
The problem still remain, in facebook debug i put the url and grabs random images.
One note; with some social media they will “scrape” images from page, and *not* ironically from the META data. I run into this with Facebook posting every day, and Twitter will tend to grab the first image found in the META.
Always look at your META data (view source). For example, if you have 3 images in your post, the first one in the META may be used as default, based either on which is posted first into the story/article, or by name/numerical depending on your setup.
There *does* seem to be a bug with the Pinterest share button not showing anything (using button in theme below each post). However for us the Twitter, Facebook and G+ do work properly. Also remember ANY image which is “linked” in the article will generally *NOT* be used as an image in social media (or Google News), as most of the ‘bots can’t determine if that is an advert or not (ads are commonly linked, while an editorial image is *not* linked to anything).
Not sure if that helps anybody, just the behavior I’ve seen.
Ok, i’ve seen the problem now, it comes from similar articles for example this page http://house-language.me/sebastien-leger-back-to-basics-remixes-mis049/ have 3 images, one for the post and 2 images from similar articles. Facebook grabs the 3 images in alphabetical order. Please fix this bug.
I am having the same issue. When I share using the Facebook button at the bottom of a post, it pulls images from my site. Same 3 but not the Featured image.
Facebook Featured Image and Open Graph Meta Tags is not supported for my version of WordPress.
Is there an answer to this issue yet?
Thanks in advance.
