I believe you can set the crop position in WordPress as of v3.9 so for tall images where you want them to all crop from top vs center out, you have various options

http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size#Crop_Mode

There is no cropping control within the theme itself, but you can add the type of crop to always use in the functions.php file based on the above reference.

And of course you need to use regenerate thumbnails plugin to rebuild all your thumbs with a new crop setting.
You will of course need to experiment with this.

Hi,
The images should be fine there, please can you regenerate the thumbnails, because there should be the full images, not cropped.

or create a new slider and use new images that are not in your media library and see if works.
