We have images throughout our site that we’ve used for third-party ads. We simply insert an image and add a link to it. Suddenly this doesn’t work anymore, and when you click on the ad, it just opens it as an image. Please advise, as these images have become inert across our entire site and we’d like to resolve asap.

And for clarification, when I go into the editor, the images still show as having a link attached to them set to open in a new tab.
