Hi there,
At the moment there is no such possibility, we can define a background image, but it is not ok with Knowledge Graph (like Twitter’s : https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator).
Would be very good for SEO and so.

Sorry but the categories do not have a “featured image” possibility. I will add this to our list for future updates and if this request becomes more popular we will consider implementing it into our theme.
