Would sortby="rand" tags Effect Speed?

Hey guys, do you think using the tag sortby=”rand” for the image gallery in a post will effect the page speed? Especially if you’re using a caching plugin that caches posts and pages? I’m currently doing that and the speed of my site is brutal and I want to try to reduce whatever there is to do to speed it up.

I’m sorry for that but this is from wordpress core. The theme doesn’t work with the gallery sorting function.
