I would like to know
a) are there any information enbedded in the Theme I uploaded from my
PC to the ISP that is indentifiable to the pulic? For instance some part
where “Purchase Code, name och mail is embedded” and could be “hacked”?
I want to know if the Theme or the uploaded files could therefore
reveal my identity?
b) is it possible for TagDiv OR Envato Market through som embedded code
in the Theme to trace my upload from my PC to my ISP and domain so
that the “site” is not anonymous to TagDiv and/or Envato Markets?
I want to know if a person working for TagDiv and/or Envato Markets
can indentify to what site the theme was uploaded, thus revealing my
identity to them (since I’m not anonymous to Envato Markets)
c) if a) and b) are answered no, is there any other way my identity
can be revealed using the Theme bought by TagDiv through Envato Markets?

Hi,
a) Besides the information stored in your site’s database, the theme files do not contain any references of any sensitive information like username or email. If your database is secured, it cannot be accessed by the general public. b) Through the them’s activation code, some information will be sent to us and stored for future references and to combat piracy so legal copies can be accounted for and provide the benefits for our paying customers. The number of sites you activate the theme on and the number of activations is accessible to us.
As far as we know enevato does not gather any other information except the one you provided when creating your envato account, but this is best addressed to envato themselves.
On another note an advanced user can be able to figure out the theme you use on your site as specific classes are used and these can be seen in the theme’s code but not your personal information.
c) Through the envato purchase code your information is accesible by envato (only the one you provided for the account) but this information is not released to the publis as it is protected by the envato privacy policy: https://envato.com/privacy

Thank you for a very clear answer. As related to b) above when I uploaded the Theme I was asked to activate
1) A plugin-in “Visual…” I think it was called. It was necessary to use for the Theme to function properly. However I chose not to register with them, since that would have given them my personal information, e-mail,e.t.c
Question: Is it necessary to register the “Visual….”?
2) I was also asked to Activate the Theme, but I chose not to do that (within the Themepanel) since I did not know then why I should do that. What I understand this Activation is what is related to b) for your ability to monitor possible “illegal” use.
Currently I have uploaded the Theme from my PC and use it and it seams to work just fine, without any activation.
Question: Do I have to activate the Theme? What happens if I do not activate the Theme?
