insert image to post problem

Hi,

I set my media settings Large; 850×850, Medium;650×650, and thumbnail;450×450

Im only using newspaper theme plugins (rev, visual etc)

before I install Newspaper theme, i can choose large as 850px, medium as 650px and thumbnail as 450px to insert image to my post

But after installing Newspaper theme, while im writing post, when i try to insert image from media library; large is 640px, medium is 640px.. and im not using sidebar..

I am working on my local server, so there is no way to show you..

but 3 times i install fresh wordpress and fresh newspaper.. after installing newspaper these sizes changes..

I want to keep my own settings..

I need your help please..

What size image are you actually uploading?

Your problem is the same like @torgut, you misconfigured the image proportion in your media settings for large, medium & thumbnails.

Im uploading 1200 px images, im not using photon, or any optimization tool..

1) I setup my wp, media settings and image size as (Large; 850×850,) (Medium;650×650,) and (thumbnail;450×450)

2) I upload my images

3) I import my posts and start to place images (with no side bar)

4) While placing images, there were no problem and i can add my images as i arranged like (Large; 850×850,) (Medium;650×650,) and (thumbnail;450×450)

5) I install Newspaper Theme

6) I write new post and try to add image but image sizes are changed.. New image size are; large is 640px, medium is 640px

I didnt do anything, I didnt install any plugin except visual.

7) I checked my settings again in settings-media.. and it shows that my original arrangments..

My Problem: when i try to add images to post, I cant see my preferences like (Large; 850×850,) (Medium;650×650,) and (thumbnail;450×450)

Please i need help..

If I understood you correctly I am having exactly the same problem and so far no solution:

I even made a clean installation, no plugins at all, I witch between default WP theme – all is good, to tagDiv theme, where the issue occurs immediately. Perhaps I am being just blind but of it was a proportion thing, wouldn’t the default WP theme present the same problem?

I just want to have an image size corresponding approximately to the width of the post contents area.

Yes Torgut… we both have same problem.. I tried 3 times with clean wordpress installation without any optimization plugin like you did. (actually with no any plugin). this problem comes with theme.. photos are very important for my web site (travel blog) so i want to use my own settings..

Again.. Someone please i need help.. (it seems WE need help)

Ps: To find solution,

1) i tried Image Regenerate, image sizes panel, simple image size, and kind of media library management plugin.. but it didnt help..
2) I changed td_wp_booster_functions like tagdiv said before in somewhere… but it didnt help..
3) I created new media size like 850×0 and make it available in post screen… but it didnt help (it automatically turn 640px again..
4) I tried to change ratio scale of image which fit my images.. but it didnt help stil 640px..

my codding knowledge is very poor.. but i believe that newspaper codders can find solution for this..

So Bogdan, it seems it’s not a Jetpack problem, or any other plugin problem, or a proportion problem. And no, the problem in my case was not any alignment. The problem persists no matter alignment I use as it was told to you in my last posts. Actually the problem persists the moment I install a fresh WordPress installation, I install your theme and I upload the first image. Just by uploading it, the 640px problem arises.

“Our theme does not use any thumbnail for images inside the post content. It will show them in full size if it can or it will shrink them to fit the container.”

Hold on… shrink? If we upload high definition images with 6 Mb the theme doesn’t use the thumbnail and uses them and scales them? It means that if we have a post with 20 pictures like this the post will take more than 120 Mb to load?

Furthermore, I made a new test… I changed the large thumbnail settings to different values and 640px is the maximum it will be accepted by the theme. If I set it to 630px, will show 630px in Large, if I set it to 650px it shows the 640px in Large.
