iPhone 6 Plus Problems

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that the theme appears to have a couple of problems when viewed on an iPhone 6 Plus. I am unsure whether this may be a similar problem on devices of such size.

– The menu does not load (slide out) when the menu button in the top-left hand corner is pressed.

– Some of the images on the homepage are out of sync with the articles. i.e. it’s the wrong image showing next to some headlines.

Our website is http://www.thisisanfield.com and any advice is much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately we don’t know how the theme behaves on iPhone 6 Plus devices as we haven’t made any tests with it. Thank you for reporting this and letting us know, we will try to test this until the next theme updated and provide a fix for this.

Thanks

I will be extensively testing all our sites for the regular iPhone 6 once we have it (backordered….); finally upgrading from iPhone 4S. I normally check all our stuff on iPad AIR, where the theme looks absolutely AWESOME. 🙂

Technically the iPhone 6 plus should behave similarly to a comparable sized Galaxy tab on android, one would think.

@thisisanfield
once you have the next IOS8 update which will fix various bugs with IOS8 1.0 and the new phones, maybe figure out how to take photo of the screen oddities, or screen cap if you have app for that (is there one?). This might be good to know, since I don’t plan on buying a “PLUS” phone. 🙂

Hi,

@thisisanfield
I have checked your site using an iPhone 6 and 6 Plus emulator and didn’t found any issues with the menu or images align on your site:

Of course that using emulators could not behave like the device but it’s a start, please let me know if you still have this issues anymore.

Thanks

It appears to only be in Safari on iPhone 6 Plus, so perhaps an issue with Apple. I can still send over screenshots etc if that’ll help?

Oddly, when going to the site through Twitter/Facebook apps it looks great and functions perfectly.

It bends 😉

Hi,

@thisisanfield
I have also checked this live using an iPhone 5/IOS 8 the same as iPhone 6 uses and found no issue with your site. Should work fine, it could also happen due to some other software, plugins.

Thanks

I’ll keep an eye on things there then, thanks for taking a look into it.

I wasn’t experiencing it on the iPhone 5S with iOS 8, only with iPhone 6 Plus and only in Safari.

I’ll let you know if I figure out a cure!

Many thanks.

I should get my new iPhone 6 (not PLUS) today …. and will be checking my 4.2.2 site once I have a spare brain cell. Note the iPhone 6 I think defaults to some kind of zoom mode or larger pixels mode or something; not sure if that impacts Safari, but it might be something you can adjust, although have not played with that yet. Friend is supposed to stop by this weekend who has the gold (LOL) iPhone 6, so may be able to check then.

Don’t try with emulator… but try with iphone 6 plus and use Safari Browser and you can see that problem 😛
