Is JSS composer really required by the theme

A lot of errors are being reported for the visual composer

/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/css/vc_lte_ie9.css –> this is the reported URL. Does newspaper really requires the visual composer. I am not using demo styles nor have i created a custom home page with the plugin? Can i disable this plugin?

Hello,

You can use the theme without visual composer. It is required only if you use it’s features. It will not affect your category pages or posts because these get their layout from the theme not the plugin. You will have to create pages without visual composer though.

I am receiving the same error, even after updating everything, uninstalling VC I am no longer able to upload new plugins

Could not copy file. js_composer/assets/css/lib/vc-entypo/fonts/vc_entypo.woff

and also…

Unpacking the package…

Could not create directory.

What should I do?

To reset plugin directory, via FTP:
a) rename plugins folder to xplugins
b) go to login
c) then go back to FTP and rename plugins folder back to plugins

this is the official WordPress method to reset plugins folder and what I use.

While there you might also fully DELETE the js-compposer folder for VC.
