Please refer to image. This guy in 2015 had same problem…

https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-to-get-notification-count-code/

Is there a SIMPLE fix Please. I’ve spent too many hours on THIS stupid thing when it should’ve taken 3 minutes aka be ready to go out of the box WITH the newspaper theme.

I am sure 10000’s of people before me want the SAME SOLUTION, this is just good UX. There is no reason in 2017 that the NUMBER ONE MOST SOLD WordPress theme hasn’t fixed this yet.

Stop saying it’s compatible with buddypress. If “compatible’ means hacking together a new menu after hours of crappy Buddypress info, than that is very generous usage of the word. People BUY themes to SAVE time not waste time finding the solutions that should’ve already been included!

Hi,

Please provide more details about what you are trying to achieve with the respective menu, so I may give you a more accurate answer if possible. If this is related to this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/buddypress-move-or-replace-admin-topbars-avatar-to-newspaper-topbar/ I am afraid there is no easy solution I can provide.

Thanks

I don’t know how much more clearer to be. Buddypress has a user management type of thing with avatar and menu on the admin bar. Newspaper theme has a avatar on the top bar. The OBVIOUS goal would’ve been to merge them with no work by the customers. (Why would ANYONE want TWO avatars, where’s the UI/UX in that????) This is not compatible in the way that users would expect at all. I wish you guys would stop putting “compatible with Buddypress” as it’s misleading. “Compatible” means we the customers don’t have to hack the code to make the obvious things between BP and Newspaper work in sync. If I wanted to spend a bunch of time coding or researching solutions, I would’ve created the site from scratch instead of buying a theme.

I’ve tried the hacks, they don’t work. I’ve spent time which has had a domino effect on my site — delaying other features — while my competition is kicking my ass because of it.

Hi,

I am sorry that you could not achieve the result you wanted. If there was a simple solution I would surely provide you with it. What you are trying to achieve has to be made custom. If you cannot manage to make the modifications you need, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you. At the moment we cannot provide custom work or theme functionality customization.

Thank you for understanding!

It’s not compatible with Buddy Press to what customers would expect. Misleading.

You guys should consider changing that claim.

People are spending their money on your theme with the expectation that Buddy Press is fully integrated, not that they need to hire a freelancer to make obvious things work. I wouldn’t consider that “compatible”. This is on tagdiv, not Buddypress, to not mislead customers. No one forced tagdiv to make false claims about compatibility.

Why tagdiv hasn’t updated this after 5 yrs of customers having the same exact complaint, is beyond me. Laziness I guess.

Hello,

We are sorry you feel this way about our theme and about the support. Please understand that the plugin is compatible with our theme but compatibility does not mean it will become part of the theme and part of the theme structure or elements. Compatibility simply means it will work with our theme but it does not mean we have created special code for the plugin to be implemented seamlessly into the theme. The 2 options you requested support for were the avatars not being in sync and the admin panel for the buddypress needs to be moved from it’s current implementation into the theme top bar.
Both of these are not related to the theme support because one is a plugin setting: https://www.screencast.com/t/4bTh3GRww and the other represents customization where you want to change the default implementation of the plugin and move it from the wp admin bar to the theme top bar. This is not covered by any setting nor covered by the theme support. We understand you need this option but it’s not up to the theme or the theme support. It is an implementation you require that is not provided in the theme and we never advertised it to be so. Custom work is not part of the theme support. That is why we suggested hiring a freelancer.
If for any reason you find that the theme is not up to your expectation or the theme support is not what you were looking for we will be able to provide with a refund so you can choose another theme for your project. You can request a refund here in case you need it: https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new

Thank you for your understanding!
Bogdan B
