Issue with “Category Siblings” After Update

Hello Newspaper Support Team,

After the recent update, I’ve noticed an issue with the “Category Siblings” feature. Instead of displaying the closest subcategories as expected, the system now shows the maximum number of categories from different sections. This has disrupted the intended category structure on my site.

Could you please investigate this issue and provide a fix or workaround? Let me know if you need any additional details.

Thank you for your support!

Hello!

Do you have a subcategory for that current category?

Thank you!

After the recent update, the “Category Siblings” feature has stopped working correctly. The issue affects how categories are displayed across different sections.

Expected Behavior:
Destinations section → “Category Siblings” should display Continents
Continent section → “Category Siblings” should display Countries
Country section → “Category Siblings” should display Country Categories
Current (Incorrect) Behavior:
Destinations section → “Category Siblings” displays Continents + Countries + Country Categories
Continent section → “Category Siblings” displays Countries + Country Categories
Country section → “Category Siblings” displays Country Categories (this remains correct)
Only the Country and Country Categories sections are working correctly. The higher-level sections (Destinations and Continents) are displaying too many unrelated categories.

Hello Craig!

Use the Subcategories shortcode instead.

Thank you!
