Issue with Excerpt and Instead of Excerpt how to add post content

Hi,
Can we not have the excerpt text taken from the main post content by limiting the number of Characters/Lines.

For Excerpt with the settings provided the title is working fine however for the Excerpt length is not working whatever may be the value give the entire text is displaying it’s not limiting to the value given in the field.
