After purchasing the theme, I tried to install the Visual Composer plugin via Newspaper’s plugin option. However, it wouldn’t work so I manually uploaded the Visual Composer zip file.
When I try to activate the plugin, it’s telling me that they can’t find a license for my purchase. I’ve tried this for the better part of a day.
How can I fix this?

You don’t need to “activate” the plugin, you simply turn it on from the plugins page; then ignore any nag screens about activating it with theme vendor; it’s not needed with the bundled version.
