I have some issues with some files on my site. It is making it load very slowly even after adding a CDN. Here is a list of issues found on GTMetrix. The google font is taking nearly 3 secs to load and i have no clue where that is based or how to fix it aswell. Please help!

Some images are taking a few secs to load aswell even with a CDN and being optimized.

See the theme docs > tutorials for tips on speeding up your site; also see my long winded tutorial in the DIY > best of forums section.

That really doesnt help me out. For a start i need to know where this google font css problem is thats causing it to take extra time to load.

Well, if you can’t read my tutorial on how to remove the google fonts, then I guess you’ll have to wait for TagDiv to try to help.

Google fonts are used by the theme, you can disable all Google fonts and only use web safe fonts as a start.

But you’ll also need to do some additional hand-work to completely “scrub” use of Google fonts by theme as it does use couple of them by default. My tutorial shows an example of how to do that, but up to you.

Basically – anything loaded outside your own website adds time to the page load, whether fonts from Google’s server, JetPack, Disqus, etc. — your page has to wait for that stuff to load in order to actually load the page.

Sorry that wasn’t helpful. Good luck!

I appreciate the effort of the tutorial but for someone who doesn’t quite understand all the ins ans outs its quite confusing. If you can point me at an exact location of how to remove them from your tutorial that would be good.

Thanks

Hello,
Unfortunately the theme has no such options so you have to do it yourself. Our theme was built to use google fonts by default. The default fonts used everywhere in our theme are “open sans” and “roboto”
You can either choose to change all of the fonts in the font section and switch to web default fonts, or use one of our users coding solutions such as the one provided by Chris or https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/do-i-really-need-to-change-all-the-text-fields-for-fonts/
Thank you!
