When i use the menu the content blocks off other sections of the menu.
e.g. if i wanted to click on NBA i can’t because it is covered up by the blocks.
Ive seen others have the names of the items (the sports) to the left hand side and then the content nicely on the right.
How do i enable this? thanks

It seems that you have not created the mega-menu properly. That is why it breaks. You will have to remove the sub-categories in the menu element before making it a mega menu. You simply add the parent category and select the mega-menu option;. The theme will grab the subcats automatically.
