what about the possibility to update jQuery to a newest version? There will be some problem with the theme?

There will be no problem for the moment. We will update the jquery in future updates if this becomes an issue.

Hi,
this is not an issue problem, but a performance problem, jQuery 1.4 is 8 year old, is slow slow, use deprecated methods and support I6 more…
But ok it’s your choose.

It wouldn’t be wise to update JQuery to a newer version when JQuery 1.12.4 is still the latest version supported by core.
