I have just become aware of the new update.
It would seem that tagdiv is still not really listening to it’s customers, feedback or suggestions.
Personally, these new themes are just terrible looking. There has been no creativity or design flare put into any of these at all. The single post pages are still all so dull, still look the same and not very appealing at all.
It would seem my countless suggestions, ideas and demontrations in the past of fallen on deaf ears. There is just nothing “Special” here at all. Many of these single post templates just look yuck.
The following is an example of what an actual beautful and very appealing single post looks like HERE and an beautful category page
However, the new theme gives us things like this lifeless dullness plan looking dull sheet of paper.
I hope in future releases newspaper actually comes up with some creative flare in its designs and not have everything look the same all the time

Hi afratus, yes the example send by mgiannelis are from another theme, but that design can be achieve with Newspaper theme. Now with the Newspaper theme you can copy almost every website.

Hi mgiannelis. I fully agree with you. There is just nothing “Special” here at all. The functionality may be somewhere under the hood, but the “fabulous” is nowhere to be found. If I look at the footer of the default Newspaper Theme – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/footer/Footers/972 and this sorry attempt at UI in the East Coast Check Pro – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_eastcoast_check_pro/, I am equally disappointed in this release. Tagdiv Designers – Please take us seriously – The creator economy today insists on a delicate balance of fabulous & functional. The update so far is good particularly for its ACF and front-end submission, though some ACF Field Types still need additional updates, particularly ‘wysiwyg editor’. How about inline related post tools? Are we not talking about this for a while?

We understand that this update is not to everyone’s liking, but I don’t think it’s possible to please all customers, because everyone needs different options. The tagDiv team tries their best to add as many options as possible and make the theme as good as possible.
If you researched the list of what was introduced in this update, then you would have seen that this update is based on CPT, ACF and positions on the frontend.
If you want a specific layout, how many options does the theme have now, I don’t think it can be achieved with the Newspaper theme, you just have to try to use tagDv Composer and cloud templates, once you learn how to use them you won’t need to wait after the demos from the updates and you can create your own templates.

I can’t even update the theme correctly. It can’t be installed due to however some errors. Other parts of the update were correctly installed, but not the newspaper theme? I actually don’t understand the error.
I experience now problems with the media library. Uploaded images do not appear correctly.
I agree with him there really is nothing special in this version 12. Even the review system is mediocre and quite difficult and strange.
I mean see, you/admin can change someone’s review comment. It does look good to edit a review with a rant but if there are a lot of reviews it will be a hassle and the review will need to be approved first every time there is a new one, that’s very inconvenient.
It’s better for the development team to focus more on developing features that are pastes on a blog and news website because basically people buy this theme because of that.
It features light-dark website mode, content tables and many others which are interesting if we take a look at the new developer theme.
Developers should also seriously work on the appearance of AMP Plugins & Mobile Themes, because internet users now use mobile more to visit websites than desktops.
The AMP plugin & mobile theme belonging to the newspaper tagdiv theme looks very classic and old-fashioned, it doesn’t have any interesting features or a slightly modern look, I even look like it’s been abandoned.
If the developers don’t take this seriously I think many of your customers will be willing to waste their money to leave this theme and buy a more modern theme and according to current state/demand conditions.
