How can I get a similar menu on the side like your demo?

You can achieve the menu bar, like as our demo if you make some customization. First of all, please follow this: http://screencast.com/t/yIKUMIY4kR and then, in function.php you can see this: http://screencast.com/t/YzyYM7Fo .
