Limit dropdown list of Authors in the post to authors only

Hi,

On our page we are having the same Authors as Editors and Authors, so it gets confusing the post editing when someone wants to choose the Authors from the Dropdown list. Is it possible to limit this list to AUTHORS (wordpress author) only? We dont want to see administrators or editors there. Thanks!

Hello kognitoweb,

I suppose that you are referring to Box Author, right? So, if you want to filter only some authors you will have to use the author ID, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/1U0HTSG4ji and the author ID you can get in this way -> http://screencast.com/t/zKpJ7s1GSzNE
If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Hi,
No, Im referring to the Post Settings of an individual post, where I can assign a AUTHOR to a POST. Below every post there is a dropdown list of Authors/Editors etc. I want ONLY AUTHORS to be visible there.

Hello kognitoweb,

Please notice that this is just a WordPress ‘problem’ and this is not theme related. Unfortunately, our theme does not have such a simple option to filter authors/editors from the drop-down field, sorry! As an alternative would be to find some plugins with this functionality and check the how it will work with the theme.
