Hi, I’m not sure if this is anything to do with the theme or not, but this has only come up since my site went live with Newspaper. When I try to upload images through the regular WP admin panel and media upload button, it won’t let me upload anything bigger than 500kb.
I’ve checked with my hosts and this isn’t a limit imposed by them, so I presume it must be a setting in my admin panel or related to a plugin or setting within the theme. I have the Imsanity plugin but this shouldn’t stop bigger uploads, it’s always allowed me to upload them and then shrunk them in the media library.
Is this something you’ve encountered with the theme or do you know what might be causing it?

The theme doesn’t control the file’s size which is uploaded in media library, this is controlled by WordPress and usually should be a higher limit: http://screencast.com/t/pcA7GxBCSrk I am not sure why this issue occur but you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
