Hello,
I’m having some difficulties with Newspaper theme.
Where do I change link colors? ¸
Default link color, hover link color and visited link color?
Also, I find font preference in general confusing.
Which font exactly is “default font”, what size is “default”, what style is “default”, etc?
I’m talking about this mess:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
Why can’t see actual font and actual size and actual style?
Please, help…
Hello,
The default fonts are roboto and open sans. You can change the fonts for different parts of the theme using that menu. There are lots of elements in our theme and they need to be targeted separately and this is the reason there are too many options in the fonts section. Unfortunately there is no single setting to change the default font. If you want an easier way to change the default font overall please follow this topic:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/do-i-really-need-to-change-all-the-text-fields-for-fonts/
As for the link colors they are mostly changed from the theme accent color: http://screencast.com/t/nbzqxp8b but they can be changed for every block in particular in visual composer in block settings.
Than you!
1.) So, if my accent is black and my text is black, my link will look like the rest of the text?
Not cool, not cool…
2.) Regarding the font, when I have “default”, Verdana is used as body-text. Once I change to “Open Sans”, then I get Open Sans. I would attach an image, but, am I crazy, or is it that your forum does not support attachments?
3.) One more thing regarding fonts. You’ve placed every single Google font to be selected from for all the items. What sense does it make when nobody uses more than two, three the most?
I’ve been changing one by one and IT’S PAINFUL with all the scrolling (733 google fonts) and stuff.
You already have “Custom fonts” menu, so why not keep pre-selection (fonts and weights) there and displaying just chosen fonts/sizes in elements section?
1) Unfortunately if you have black on black, then yes, this will be the result. You can however change the hover colors from the visual composer block settings.
2) This forum does not accept atachments but you can insert a link to the screenshot. Verdana is indeed used on the body even in our demo: http://screencast.com/t/uPLUXlQvM91A but this can be changed from the fonts section.
3)We have not added this option yet but maybe in a future version we will be able to insert a ‘most used’ or favorites section at the top of the dropdown.
Thank you!
This font handling thing is horrendous…
This is insane. I just want to increase font sizes a bit and I have no way of knowing what does “default” mean?!
You have 116 (yes, I’ve counted) different elements to setup font family, size, line height, weight and transformation. And it’s all “default”.
If it’s Roboto, why it doesn’t say so? If it is 13pt, why it doesn’t say so?
Do I really have to go trough style.css from start to end?! And how am I supposed to know what exactly is each and every element, module, block, etc.?
Is there somewhere a list with font default settings and names of modules and elements so I could at least have some idea what am I editing?
I’ve never been frustrated with a theme like this.
Please, help me with this, I think I’m going insane…
Hello eugqua,
Please do not panic. All the fonts from our theme could be changed from Theme panel->Theme fonts area section, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/AEMV23VhNbSv From there you have control over your fonts for each section. For more information about font customization, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/ Also, for your ease, you should check this list here -> http://screencast.com/t/dDsYnzwG because there you can find a list with all our modules used by blocks. This is useful because you can make an idea about what modules are used in your blocks and you can easily identify sections.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your understanding!
I’m not panicking, I just can’t understand logic behind the interface and will lose huge amount of time to fix this.
This is ridiculous amount of work to use anything but default styling.
I’m used to normal setting for font setup, something like this or this.
Just to check every single of 116 font options just to write down the default size is crazy. And frankly, I have no idea where to start and how to check one by one.
Can you at least email me the list or screenshots for default settings, so I could at least skip this part?
+ 1 . Please list all the defaults rather than just saying “Default” with every font selection. I have to go into Firefox and inspect the page to see what the default it. Not just the actual font, but also if it’s bold, italic, text decoration, etc…
Hello,
Unfortunately, we have no default such list to offer in this regard, sorry! The default values were established by the developers when were created the design theme. Also, the theme has the panel where you can change these value as you wish.
Thank you for your understanding!
Well, repeating that there’s panel where we can change those values won’t help.
Believe it or not, we are aware of existence of the panel.
You’re saying, developers created those values? So, who am I talking to now?
I taught tagDiv developed Newspapers theme and this seems like tagDiv support forum.
C’mon, this is really, really basic option – knowing the font settings. I can’t believe we’r having this conversation.
I mean, I would gladly ask for a refund if I knew I will stumble upon some ridiculous problem like this, and spare both you and me of this annoyance. However, Envato doesn’t allow for a refund.
So, please, ask developers for this list because, the gotta have it. It would be impossible to design the theme without that.
I understand that this is annoyance for you, and I really hate to bother you, the support stuff with this, because it obviously isn’t your fault.
However, it isn’t my either, so I have to protect my interests.
I can’t spend a day or two trying to figure out this on my own, and I hate the idea that I have to throw away 60$ I’ve paid for the theme and all the time I’ve already spent working on this project.
Please, ask someone, because, as you can see, I’m not the only one needing this.
Hello eugqua,
Please notice that here is support department and our team handle only the issues/problems/situations that require support and this is not the team of developers. As I said you above, we have no such a list for default fonts, sorry! We have added this suggestion on our list of improvements and we will consider in next future updates but we cannot say for sure the exact date when it will be accomplished this. Sorry for the inconvenience and if you are unhappy and you want to request the refund, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your request in this regard.
Thank you for your understanding!
