Hi,

I did a test and for me works https://i.imgur.com/KXTIbUR.png
So if the posts don’t have the featured image, then they will display a blank thumb; you can set a placeholder.
You can set a Placeholder in Theme Panel -> Blocks Settings -> https://i.imgur.com/mo0Cbu2.png.
