Hello.
I get “broken link” error for every page in the website because the links are created by whatsapp.
How can I solved this error?

Thank You

Hello matore,

Please keep in mind that the Whatsapp was been designed to be used only for mobile devices and not for others. So, I have tested on my mobile device (not the emulator) and works as properly.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi there
I can confirm my SEO software detects 121 errors (404s) because of the error indicated above, here is one example “http://whatsapp//send?text=Spanish+pop-up+dinner+at+The+Dobblers+Inn%20-%20http%3A%2F%2Fspanishwineries.co.uk%2Fpop-up-dinner-dobblers-inn%2F” – I tried to use the CSS to remove all reference to WhatsApp, but it doesn’t fix this issue. Can I also remove WhatsApp from the mobile site in the CSS?
Thanks

Welcome to the club. I still hope that the TagDiv team will find a solution…

Whatsapp links only work on mobile and *if* you have the whatsapp ‘app’ actually installed — that’s how it works; clicking link without having Whatsapp ‘running’ will give broken link error.

Using any link-follower trying to follow that link basically means the link checker is too stupid to recognize whatsapp (kind of like W3C RSS checker that doesn’t understand srcset tags, or https enclosure images).

Presumably one *should* have rel=nofollow tags on those links, and didn’t look to see if they are there or not.

Same here

Anyone with a quick -custom code-, nofollow solution?

Love to see it fixed, even though the SEO software is stupid 🙂

Catalin will need to answer that one, as I’m not sure where that code hook is — although probably in the socials snippet file/module …

Hello,

All the code which is referring to the Whatsapp can be found in that line here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/IRmnXK2ogKi

Thanks for the message!
