Hi!
When the post is contained of Facebook post embeds, everything is fine except when this post is shown on the homepage in some of the blocks where it automatically pulls “text excerpt” bellow the image.

Is there any fix or I just have to put some longer text before the Facebook embeds?

The site is https://www.zagrebacki.hr but the problem is already solved in such way that we made the text before Facebook embeds a little bit longer.
Take a look at the screenshot I provided on the URL above and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fix the problem. My solution is just a workaround but I can’t tell my clients “just add some text before the facebook embeds” so that the site won’t show HTML embed code on the homepage.

Please notice that our excerpts feature will take the text from your first content of your post and will display in your page, after the thumbnails of your modules/blocks. Notice that you can handle the length of it if you will change the number of size in Theme panel, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Wsv6WqfgO From panel you can control the parameters of this feature. Also, notice that in the first part of your posts, if you will have some links or any others Facebook Posts, the theme will not recognize it and that’s why you will bring the URL of these, sorry!
If you want to develop this feature and change the Excerpts functionality, you should edit the theme core file where this function is made and add your custom code. As a hint, you should edit the get_excerpt() function from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VSgCS3EKqI Notice that function is too sensible and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take, in this case, you simply break the code, sorry! Otherwise, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!

I understand everything you’re saying, but I can’t understand why you develop all kinds of themes and then you don’t fix bugs that come up in the future. This is clearly the bug since it should know that if the excerpt text is an URL or html text (the code that shows up when you put facebook post embed into the post) that it should not display that in the excerpt. I know that we can fix that if we put some text before facebook embeds (an that can work too) but it’s not an elegant solution. Thank you and I really hope you’ll fix this some day 🙂

Unfortunately, please keep in mind that is not a bug. This feature was not been implemented in our theme and that’s why our excerpts do not recognize any links or Facebook embedded (iframes).
