When I drop a link into social media, the wrong image appears – from another story.
If I link to the Home Page, one featured image pops up every time.
And if I link to a specific story, the choice of featured image is random, and not the featured image of the post itself.
How can I ensure that the Home Page links to the current main story?
And that individual post links link to the featured image of that post?

You need to set up Open Graph tags for FB, and Twitter Tags for Twitter.
Use plugin like YOAST SEO or similar to accomplish this.
