Hi,
I’m using “Load More” on the home page, but I can’t get it working on the category pages. Instead, I’m getting infinite load on category pages. In the Newspaper Panel > Categories > Pagination Style, for some reason, the 3rd choice is “Infinite Loading + Load More” instead of just “Load More.” I don’t want the infinite load, because I have important links at the bottom that users can never get to- how can I get the button?

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for category pages pagination, sorry! So, please notice that the Infinite loading+Load More button can be set it as you wish. By default, this button loads the first three sets of posts and then the Load More button will appear. The number of posts for a set you can adjust from WordPress settings, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/fynImR0KiKA6 and then you have to change the value for infinite loading stop from td_page_generator.php core file, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/jjYfmtOKC and then, the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/btRvP0l3

Thanks. Can I change that code on the child theme or does it have to be changed in the parent theme? I want my client to be able to update the parent theme without my intervention through the Envato Toolkit.

You can make these changes in the child theme but please notice that to next future update the client will have to update the child theme that comes bundled with our theme and re-implement this customization.

I’m not clear what you mean by that. I think I may have created my own child theme. I don’t remember anymore. It has a lot of other customizations too. What do I need to know?

OK, so, I can make this change to the child theme instead of the parent theme. And then it will always be safe from future updates. Is that correct?

Yes. Please notice that the child theme is the optional one and it is using in general for additional customizations. The child theme will be changed in each future update a little bit, but you will have to re-add all your customizations in the new child theme that come bundled with our theme.

I don’t understand what you mean at all. A child theme is a place where you can make modifications to a theme that won’t be overwritten with future theme updates. Are you saying that my child theme will be overwritten when I update Newspaper? I have updated Newspaper several times so far without losing my customizations. I have given my child theme folder the name “the-kineticist”. I don’t see how that will be overwritten.

I feel sorry for this moment, maybe my explanation was not understood correctly. So, if you have some custom modifications in your child theme, in the future, you must be careful that if something does not work as properly with your child theme, probably the classes or some code were changed in the latest update and you will have to “UPDATE” you child theme with the actual classes or right code to work as expected. I hope that you have understood my explanation. Please notice that this thing is not necessary doing for each update only if problems arise due your child theme customizations.
