You know very well that this kind of problems comes up after 7.5 version when your developer team changed breadcrumbs markup.
The Seo Yost controls this section.
Nope. So that the Yoast has full control over the breadcrumbs section (structure & appearance), you have to make changes and add manually breadcrumb conditionally on somes files of the theme to make it work.
With all my respect, I think this problem you have to point to your developer.

The breadcrumb implementation was modified in version 7.5 indeed, and the code meets the standards as required by google – https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/breadcrumbs The same breadcrumb system is present on the demo as well – https://www.screencast.com/t/Hc6KWOk0Wdxc and it is working as intended.
We will investigate the matter on a deeper level to identify possible issues, and a solution will be made available if needed.

Please, make again that research into incognito browser page with (site:demo.tagdiv.com) and you’ll see that breadcrumb hierarchy was lost too for your domain with the latest versions of theme.
Again, with all my respect, please point this issue to someone who really understands (your devoloper).

We have passed this on to our colleagues from the development team and they investigated the breadcrumbs but found no issues with them. Please provide an example of how the breadcrumbs are supposed to show versus how they show now as we do not understand exactly what you men. Help us investigate this so we can provide a solution. For the moment we cannot see any issue with the breadcrumbs.

Using newspaper theme Breadcrumb does not seem to contain the title of the page as a last word to the right.
It is correct or there must also be the title of the page in addition to the categories?

To test breadcrumb behavior, you can also replace the theme breadcrumb with the yoast breadcrumb in your chosen post template and see what happens. Or use the nifty navxt breadcrumbs.
Also be aware Google is doing a major update this month targeting low quality sites which only clone/copy other content and originate none of their own. Such sites will see deprecation in rankings, SERPS, and they may over-ride anything you do regardless of theme/format if you have such a site.
If the current breadcrumbs don’t throw an error in Google document check, and have the correct modern schema, then it’s not an issue with the breadcrumbs.
It might be change of theme for March is coincidental with Google major SERPS update for March targeting certain types of sites (e.g., Google the “fred” update as one bit of info on the topic).
Could be simply Google re-indexing your site.
Be sure to resave permalinks, clear transients, clear/reset all caching/CDN (destroy all old copies basically), resubmit sitemaps to Google via search console. This makes sure you’re “back in sync” with actual pages vs cached pages in Google archive.
Just food for thought after 22 years of webdev and playing with search engines. Might have nothing to do with your issue, but it might depending on how site setup, et al.

This is the old breadcrubs code from before the 7.5 update.
Try it and see if google will change anything. I doubt it though. As for the SiteNavigationElement, our theme does not use that schema so that is why google finds it as missing.
If you want to add it it, you can do so using google.s instructions on this schema markup but this is not required though. We added all the vital markup for the breadcrumbs. All our investigations point to other sourcess for your ranking loss.

Yoast uses the old data-vocabulary http://www.data-vocabulary.org/ which is deprecated but still works.
Google now recommends using schema.org which is also implemented in our theme, a head to head example can be found here – http://pastebin.com/G0cLFpw9
On structured data testing tool everything seems fine and there are no errors reported, but their live engine seem to interpret this differently.
We’re experimenting with the other options provided on the google documentation, waiting to see real results.
An update will be issued as soon as possible.
