Hello, I have a child theme and during my last update to v7.8 basic settings in the theme panel were lost and it reset to the theme defaults (i.e. logo, footer background). Even when I deactivate the child theme and activate the regular Newspaper 7.8 theme the info is still gone.
I read in the documentation that you had updated child theme support to avoid issues like this.
Is there anyway for me to restore the info or do I have to re-build everything?

The settings in the theme panel are not affected by the child theme or a theme update. The settings are kept in the database. The only way you could have lost your settings is by loading a theme demo. You maybe installed the new theme and then installed a theme demo or uninstalled a theme demo. Unfortunately if this is the case, the setting sin he theme panel will have to be re-set. Sorry
