Lost Front Page

How do I designate a page as my front page. I accidentally put something in the yoast 301 redirect and it ruined my front page. No matter how what I tried, the redirect would not go back to default front page url of http://www.betheline.com.

So I trashed the page thinking that I would just build a new page. But nothing is behaving as it was before, there the BG slide shows and no latest articles or no slide shows and only latest articles. Also, when on the theme dashboard, there is no longer the ‘edit front page’ … I have the site still set on static front page. How do I designate a new front page.

Also, when I restored a previous save, it did nothing to help and the ‘Edit Page’ Icon is no longer at the top wordpress bar when on my ‘home url’ …

Thanks

Justin

Ok, for some reason the Static Front page auto turned off. So I have the Edit back, and front page set. But the ‘Latest articles’ still says ‘Nothing to Post’ no matter what I do.

The Latest Articles section has never functioned properly. I have not been able to get it to show the correct amount of articles one single time.

This is rather frustrating, and now my home page is barren (exept for the Slider) no matter what I do to the page settings.

Please advise,

Thanks

NM, it finally just decided to work.

I will stay in touch about the front article list amount though!

Thanks

Is there an easy way to add h2 tags to the newspaper theme pages?

For “pages” you can simply do

<h2>About Our Magazine</h2>

when you create a new page. You can do the same in a post. I do this on our site for the “about us” page, and for a subhead below big featured image on articles.

The main title on page has the h1 tag, obviously.

Hope that helped 🙂
