In most cases this problems are related to some extra plugins that are compressing the quality images for a better page speed, pleas make a test only with tagDiv plugins and see if the problem persists.
If there is still a problem, please let me know and provide a link where I can inspect this problem.

They might load fine, but they don’t look fine at all. The quality of the images is 2-3 times lower compared to other thumbnails on the site. trying to make them better, we turned on the retina mode, the quality got better, but they became of different sizes, what doesn’t look better.
