Hi,
I’ve recently updated the Newpaper theme from ver4 to ver6. I’m really enjoying some of the new features that the TagDiv team have added, however what I have not enjoyed is that the update has screwed up my main menu.
Previously if you clicked on say Reviews, it would display the latest 10 reviews. Now with the update, when you click on Review it displays the Homepage again. This happens on all of the items on the Menu.
I have tried the following:
1. creating a new menu
2. Added a Home Page and a Reviews Category to the new menu and saved
3. Change from the old menu to the new one via Newspaper>Themes>Main Menu
But I get the same issue, if you click on Home its fine, but if you click on Reviews it displays the homepage
Any assistance would be great as its difficult to see where i’m going wrong

Try to resave the permalinks, go to Settings -> Permalinks and click save and see if works: http://screencast.com/t/t855BwrwPrb or try with all plugins disabled.

I’m curious as to why the change happened in the first place. Is this a common problem with all WP theme updates?

Unfortunately this can be caused by a big number of things. And as all websites have a particular settings and plugins, we cannot say for sure why it happened. You can check your error log to see if something shows up in there.
