New to Newsmag. All posts will be edited by me, then I will post them. I am not the author and should not be listed as such. Is there a way to change the author’s name on any post?
Yes, see the main WordPress Codex (docs) on WordPress.org for basic of using WordPress.
You can create users/authors from the WP admin panel (not theme panel), and you can specify an author “per post” when you create each post.

So, if you had a contributor named “Jane Smith” you would first make a user with that name, and set their user role to contributor, then you would go to your post and choose that person/user under the “author” box selector on each post.

Excellent. Thank you. I did not see the author box until I clicked on the Quick Edit link.
You can also toggle “visbility” of the author box from the top right visible tab in the post edit page 🙂
