The media (photos and videos) that are posted with our articles, both as the article’s featured media as well as the media within the article itself, are no longer visible. The images are still present in the media library, but are not visible on the homepage of our site, nor within each post. In the space where the picture or video should be there is a blank space – a white box on the homepage, and a grey box on the post itself.
I have tried deactivating all of our plug-ins to see if one (or more) of the new updates simply wasn’t playing nice with the others, or the theme itself, but so far that hasn’t worked. I’ve gone through and looked for any setting errors that might have switched off the visual/ media aspect of the site, but found nothing obvious.
Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?
Hi
Please kae sure that you’re using last theme’s version available on themeforest, V 2.3.7 and also ensure that Visual Composer it’s update at V 4.11.2, clear all caches then test again. Here you can check our documentation for more details about the update process: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Let me know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide your site url so I can have a closer look.
Thanks!
Hi, I am also currently experiencing this problem. I bought newspaper theme a couple of weeks ago, and a few days ago, I realised that the images were not showing on the home page. I haven’t even gotten a chance to start editing yet. I’ve simply uploaded the demo so far and it is experiencing this same problem. The revolution slider I added to the home page is also not visible. I have also tried deactivating a range of plugins, including lazy loading ones, all to no avail. Visual composer is version 4.12 and newspaper theme is version 7.3. I checked the forum and all the fixes are before I even bought the theme, any help please?
HI
I’ve checked your site and notifced that you’re not using Newsmag theme: http://screencast.com/t/NYe8LMMOYBIg Please switch back to our theme and let us know when we can check the site again. Meanwhile try to deactivate all plugins, deactivate lazy load animation from theme panel > template settings: http://screencast.com/t/Km3REApaCEq clear all caches then test the site again.
Thanks!
Same here. Images used by the theme are not showing. All manually coded images (in the posts) are showing, all Woocommerce images are showing…but those served by theme on homepage, sidebar blocks, etc (using VC) are not showing.
Version 7.1.1 (tried w and w/o Speed Booster)
What are some common reasons images would not display on a desktop? They are fine on mobile- or they may be cached.
Some common issues are
a) lazy load animation turned on; turn it off
b) external optimization of images breaking file type (e.g., Photon, Smush-It)
c) server update; need to reset your caching
d) expiration of CDN based on bucket expiration; need to reset
e) browser cache corrupted; clear history in your web browser
f) WordPress transients issue;
— 1) resave permalinks (get in habit doing this after any plugin/theme updates!)
— 2) optimize db tables with wp-optimize plugins.
g) And probably should check first: conflicting plugin or ad banner from AdSense/etc. breaking images; use console view in web browser (F12) to check for page error breaking page load.
h) less common, but images being loaded via http, page loading via https; no redirect for http >> https and/or domain mis-match from CDN/cache.
i) mod_pagespeed rewriting images, but breaking on serving the files due to server or domain setup error.
Good luck!

HI
Thanks @Chris for your answer.
@nycinsider if you still can’t manage to solve this please provide your site url so we can have a closer look.
Thanks!
Chris – as always, thank you. Lazy load is turned on – but I want it that way. I do have smush it – but that doesn’t explain why only images served by the theme aren’t showing.
The rest is out of my league.
Andrei – where can I provide you my URL privately? Bottom line – sometimes the images show, sometimes they don’t. And it appears to be totally random – and independent of browser, device, caching or whether I’m logged in.
Thanks!
(( with the lazy load animation — sometimes your server >> browser times out then shows nothing … this is very very very common issue ’round these parts … with SOME browsers; try turning it off for a day and see what happens — seriously ! ))
🙂
smarty pants … OUT !
Hi
@nycinsider you can address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and give as site’s url and also wp-admin. In your message paste a link to this thread.
Thanks!
@Chris – thanks. It was indeed lazy load. now gone, along the speed booster. Oh well. Two of the reasons I liked this theme.
More of a browser problem with CSS animations, than theme specific issue.
Kind of like the bootstrap based themes with boxes that fly into the page, and half the time they stick in the wrong place on the ipad, or the page crashes. Safari problem. Works fine in Chrome.
I have just stopped using any such CSS “flying, fading, zooming, bouncing” crap, as it just does not work “everywhere….”
( stupid internet !)
I too am having this same problem. Only within posts however. If I embed an image into the post or if I add an image to feature images, still nothing shows up. This is even stranger because this just started happening two days ago. Prior to that everything was working perfectly. We haven’t added any new plugins or done anything to further configure the settings, etc. but now we’re not getting images in our posts. Bummer!
I check the lazy load option and it had no effect. Please let me know your thoughts asap.
Thanks,
Mike
Hello mikegiam,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and also, make sure that you use only the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks for the message!
