Mega Menu with latest articles per category

Hey guys,

Would it be possible in one of the upcoming updates to improve the menu so it shows a few articles from a certain category.

I think it’s an awesome feature and we’d all benefit from it!

But doesn’t it makes more sense, when I click on the category name, it opens the whole category page not only loads the category items in the megamenu?!

How can I customize so that on hover it opens the MegaMenu but on click it opens the category?

Or if not possible, how can I delete the full category links underneath the MegaMenu?

I think (and this was my suggestion too) there is a “misbehavior” in handling the megamenu for categories.
In the Newspaper Megamenu you can hover a category and the article (thumbnail+excerpt) will shown. There are only arrows to navigate to the next articles in the Megamenu, but no way to open the category page.
E.g. “http://www.therichest.com/” you can hover the categories and by clicking them the whole category page is loading…

I was going for the same thing that mbasche & Nadia are talking about.

Although the Mega Menu is great, I will not use it on my sites unless after I go on the Parent Category and hover on the sub-categories the articles are displayed.

Clicking on sub categories should take me to the category page not refresh the few articles on the right.

When it comes to functionality and UX therichest have done a great job and by implementing this to your Mega Menu you will be doing your customers a great service!
