Menu link dropdowns do not work while logged in in v 12.x.x

I updated from an old version (9.x) to 12.6.2
Suddenly, among many other issues that the update caused, the menus stopped working.
I would hover over them with the mouse, but they wouldn’t display the nested menus.
I spent literally hours disabling plugins and so on, before I noticed that they were working on different browser
I tried logging out of WordPress and found that the menus worked.
Just FYI so you can fix.

Hello @kurdi!

This seems to be a caching issue. Please try to uninstall the cache plugin and check if the problem is solved. Make sure you do not use an object cache or any caching tool in your Cpanel.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

I am with Siteground hosting and their plugin automates caching on the backend, I think.

So let me summarize: in order to have working links while logged in, I have to disable caching elements. Wouldn’t this slow my site down? I’m not sure I want that.

At the moment I simply use two browsers, one that I am logged into, and another that I am not, to see my changes to the menus and header etc. Seems a much better option than to disable caching elements on my site.
