First of all, thank you very much for a well-designed theme!
What content migration procedure would you recommend, in order to safely move live content into the Newsmag theme?
I am trying to update a production website, which already has lots of content (thus juggling content around is time-consuming).
The website setup is classic: Apache2 web server with MySQL database, which power latest version of WordPress.

Before making any changes to your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and to the database also. This is a security measure, just in case something goes wrong when you switch the theme you can always get back to previous version of the site.
We don’t have a standard procedure to migrate the site from another theme to Newsmag. Basically you just install the theme and all site’s layout will be changed. Usually there shouldn’t be issues with this process, however you will have to recreate your sidebars and also if you want to customize the pages this must be done manually.
While you prepare the site to work with Newsmag theme you can put it in maintenance mode using a plugin whit a specific functionality. Like this the visitors won’t see the tests and changes made until the site is ready.

My task is to somehow merge live website (which has new content since it was ‘forked’ for using Newsmag) with the demo website.
I will probably have to either:
1. Copy the content from the live website to demo and redo all the modifications
2. Merge databases (and files) manually
Now, when I think about it… Perhaps I can survive with simpler things like:

I have a pretty big site with 5500+ posts and when trying to migrate from a Studiopress.com theme to Newsmag the upper grid/module showing the latest featured stories doesn’t show up at all.
Since I am new to Tagdivs themes I can’t find where to control the upper grid/module.
I do find the page called “Home” but how to customize the page? Is this the place to control the upper grid/module?
Another question: should I install Newsmag with or without demo content? What is most helpful?

If you already have your own content on the site I assume that won’t help to much if you also import our demo content. I think it will be easier to install a demo without content, so only the layout will be imported.
As a note please open a new thread with all necessary details about your issue/request as it is more easy for us to answer and any possible confusions will be avoided.
