I noticed that the theme isn’t showing the excerpt / description of an article when hitting the Google+ button. Have a look at the image to see what I exactly mean.

Is there something in the Theme Panel we have to change in order to see the description or is this feature lacking in this theme?
Hi Radu, I agree and think WordPress SEO by Yoast is one of the better solutions for to optimize a website and that’s why I’m using it on all my sites. On the screenshots above I use near identical settings for WordPress SEO by Yoast but the outcome is different.
Plus, I don’t think that plugin causes the issues, because even on the Newspaper demo site the description is missing when clicking the Google+ button.
I’d be happy if this issue was looked in to.
Hi,
I;ve checked the issue, i use Seo by Yoast Version 1.5.2.6 and works great, see here: http://screencast.com/t/O6LrpnLENdW
On our demo we don’t have installed the Seo by Yoast plugin.
Thanks for the message!
Hi Marius, thanks for pointing that out. At least I now know it actually works with the Newspaper theme.
I imported the WordPress SEO by Yoast (version 1.5.3) settings from the site on which the descriptions are working and gave it a try on my website using the Newspaper theme. But to my surprise the description is still not showing, even though the settings are identical to the site that does have the Google+ button descriptions.
I don’t know what else I could change to make the description work. Perhaps you could lend me a hand with it?

Here is something that might help you narrow down the cause as to why the Google+ button description isn’t appearing for me (and probably other people as well) Marius / Radu.
While I was adding widgets to the sidebar, the Google+ button description would sometimes appear after adding a block and then it would disappear after adding or removing another widget.
Note … this is an issue with Google right now.
For example when we click the G+ button in Google News for one of our stories, we see the same behavior you do.
When we click from the website it seems to be random right now. Sometimes they only show the headline with picture when capturing, but then we going to G+ wall the whole paragraph is there.
So, far we’ve only beeb able to trace this to posts which have ‘ ‘ or ” ” in the description (quotes of some kind).
That may or may not help. It does NOT seem to be theme related.
