missing whitespace in block 11 excerpt

One of the elements on enwealthen.com is a Block 11 showing the latest posts. I’ve noticed that whitespace, specifically newlines, in the excerpts are being removed, not replaced with a single space. This means

<p>Are you literate?</p><p>Financially literate, that is?</p><p>Did you know that according to a FINRA... study

appears in the excerpt as

Are you literate?Financially literate, that is?Did you know that according to a FINRA study…

Is there any way to fix this? I don’t see any relevant settings in the Excerpts settings page.

Hi,

I have entered the text you provided in a posts manual excerpt option – https://www.screencast.com/t/sESPuSwGYMtf and this is the result on block 11 – https://www.screencast.com/t/ojb1vLVtco and I do not see a problem with this. Please correct me if I misunderstand.
The only available setting in theme panel regarding excerpts is to set the excerpt type and the length.
