Has anyone in this forum created a mobile app for iPhones or Androids to go with the Newspaper theme?

Hello Rhonda.

You can add your site to the homescreen as a “mobile app” by using this guide: http://www.howtogeek.com/196087/how-to-add-websites-to-the-home-screen-on-any-smartphone-or-tablet/ but there is no mobile app in the classic way.

Thank you!

Hi GDMAG, Thanks for answering this post. Could I ask, how did you create the mobile apps? I saw that there are WordPress themes available in Envato that can be uploaded as a mobile app. I also see that there are many companies out there who created a drag and drop method of creating a mobile app, but from what I understand, you have to use their hosting and it can be pricey. I’m a relatively new startup and just looking for a one page app that will show up in the Apple store and that takes people to the website. I manage the website but do not do html coding. Thanks for your help!

Creating the mobile apps by implementing what we call Webviews.

Since you’re not familiar with mobile nor html coding, Webviews are simple functions that loads a web page into the screen of your mobile app, creating a mobile app with webview can be easy, there are many tutorials to show you how it’s done, but it will require you to change one or two lines.

Which is the link of the website.

You can try this project on Github.

I have seen beginners creating a basic webview with no coding knowledge in less than 2 days, consider it your first step to understand more about how mobile app works, because it’s easy.

You can check this tutorial on youtube.

Don’t forget you’ll need to pay 99$ to the Appstore for submission,

I wish you good luck.
